Recovering from a violent crime or traumatic experience is not something anyone should go through alone. CVAP Counselling offers survivors a safe and supportive space to process what happened, rebuild strength, and move forward with resilience.
What Is CVAP Counselling?
CVAP (Crime Victim Assistance Program) counselling is for individuals and Families impacted by violent crime in British Columbia. Once approved by the provincial government, you’ll receive financial coverage for sessions with a qualified, registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC).
We provide support to:
- Victims of assault, abuse, or violent crime
- Family members of a deceased or injured victim
- Witnesses of traumatic incidents
CVAP pays directly for counselling so you can focus on healing—not finances.
How Can CVAP Counselling Help?
You or your loved one may benefit from CVAP counselling if you’re dealing with:
- Post-traumatic stress (PTSD) or flashbacks
- Anxiety, panic attacks, or chronic worry
- Depression, grief, or emotional numbness
- Sleep problems or nightmares
- Difficulty trusting others or forming relationships
- Hypervigilance or emotional outbursts
- Guilt, shame, or low self-worth after trauma
- Coping with sexual assault, domestic violence, or abuse

Who Can Apply for CVAP?
You may be eligible if you are:
- A direct victim of a violent crime in British Columbia,Canada.
- A family member, guardian, or witness to the crime
- A person experiencing emotional harm as a result of the crime

What to Expect from CVAP Counselling
- Apply to CVAP
Submit an application to the Crime Victim Assistance Program. We’ll help if needed. - Get Approved
If approved, CVAP will issue a claim number and funding for counseling services. - Start Therapy
Once approved, we book your first session. We bill CVAP directly—no payment needed.
